This is a ghazal by the Pakistani poet Khwaja Parvaiz, (1930 – 2011), a prominent composer and lyricist who wrote many songs for Punjabi as well as Urdu films in a career spanning over 40 years. In this ghazal, the poet advises himself to come to terms with the love that has been lost but he observes that the one who has left him, is still with him, meaning her memories are still very much present. He further observes that only a very few people are lucky in love and that he is thankful to the one who has left him for still being a part of him.
